Hello from Davalynn Spencer who’s hanging on tight. The winds off the Rocky Mountains can blow every cloud from the sky and everything from the yard that’s not tied down—a perfect reason to read what today’s featured author Twila Belk has to say in her new book.
Welcome, Twila. Please give us a nutshell overview of The Power to Be: Be Still, Be Grateful, Be Strong, Be Courageous.
Relatable, honest, and with splashes of humor, this 40-day devotional reveals that we have the power to be still, grateful, strong, and courageous—even when undergoing trials, facing unknowns, battling fears, or struggling with feelings of inadequacy or insecurity. It all has to do with where our focus is.
I suspect you had some personal experience to pour into this devotional. Can you tell us why, exactly, you wrote this book? Read More →
Raindrops from Heaven
Raindrops from Heaven by Twila Belk
Hosea 6:3 says, “Let us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that cover the earth.”
Raindrops from Heaven is a beautifully designed one-year devotional filled with gentle reminders of God’s power, presence, and purpose. Revel in the rain. Splash in the puddles of God’s goodness. Delight in the deluge of His unconditional love. Let the daily words descend upon you like dew and shower your spirit with the reality of who God is. Read More →
Almost six years ago, I had the privilege of meeting the wonderful Twila Belk and her partner in crime, Cecil Murphey, at the International Christian Retail Show (ICRS) in Orlando. Since then, I've come to count both Twila and Cec as good friends. That's why I'm delighted to introduce Cec's much-maligned sidekick to you today. Not only does Twila serve as Cec's manager, protector, and as Cec would say, "mother," but she is a talented speaker, writer, and the “GottaTellSomebody Gal.” She was also brave enough to invite me to teach at my first writer's conference in 2009. So without further ado, heeeeere's Twila!
Welcome to the CAN blog, Twila. How did you get into writing?
